CC Rating: 9/10

It starts with a photograph...

An unusual love affair between a street photographer(Rafi) and a middle-class female(Miloni) who was CA topper. They meet by chance when Miloni was requested to get a photograph by Rafi. He was pressured to marry by his grandmother so convinces Miloni to pose as his fiancée, a product of that moment gives them disparate reasons to meet again.

The movie stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui(Street Photographer), Sanya Malhotra(middle-class female) and Farrukh Jaffar(Nawaz's Grandmother) in major roles. The casting of this movie couldn't get any better. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is a natural, and it is phenomenal to witness him stick to his character throughout the run-time. Sanya Malhotra wonderfully portrays the introverted Miloni, who also harbors a quotient of curiosity. Farrukh Jafar as Dadi, and Geetanjali Kulkarni as Rampyari put up brilliant performances.

Needless to mention the great writer and director of the movie Ritesh Batra, who has given the story life. The camera angles and focuses are weirdly appreciable. It depicts the situation and the state of mind of the character.

It's an intriguing movie that keeps the audience involved throughout with the journey of the characters. The narration of the movie is in silence and you might feel the movie is slow but that's the charm. I felt like people are having conversations in front of me.
